Buying guide: Electronic Components from China

Ask for IPC-A-600 class (Class 2 is standard, Class 3 for medical/aerospace), UL 94 V-0 laminate with UL file, and ISO 9001/IATF 16949 where relevant. Order a small panel run with impedance coupons and cross-section report before volume.

Reputable component makers provide full datasheets, reliability reports and lot traceability. For passives and LEDs ask for LM-80 (LEDs), AEC-Q200 (automotive passives) or RoHS/REACH declarations as required.

Most components are freely exportable, but check the US Entity List for certain Chinese semiconductor and display firms before placing orders, and keep end-use documentation.
