Security & Safety manufacturers in China

Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan are global centres for CCTV, access control, alarms, safes and PPE. Several large Chinese surveillance brands face US restrictions (FCC equipment authorisation bans, NDAA Section 889), so US buyers should check the FCC Covered List and consider white-label manufacturers not on it.

Buying guide: Security & Safety from China

Products from companies on the FCC Covered List cannot receive new equipment authorisations; NDAA bars them from federal projects. Many other Chinese OEMs are unaffected — verify the manufacturer, request FCC IDs and ask whether chipsets and components come from listed firms.

Hard hats: ANSI Z89.1; safety glasses: ANSI Z87.1; gloves: ANSI/ISEA 105; hi-vis: ANSI/ISEA 107; respirators: NIOSH only; fire extinguishers: UL listed. Request lab reports naming the standard and class.

Specify UL RSC or TL ratings for burglary and UL 72 for fire; many Chinese safes are unrated — pricing reflects it. Ask for test reports.
