Buying guide: Telecom & Networking from China

Wi-Fi routers, LTE routers and radios need FCC certification (Part 15C/E or Part 90/95) with an FCC ID; wired switches need Part 15B SDoC. Two-way radios must be certified for the US bands. Check the FCC Covered List for restricted manufacturers.

State fiber type (G.652D/OS2, OM3/OM4), connector (LC/SC/MPO, UPC/APC), length, jacket rating (OFNR/OFNP for US plenum) and insertion-loss limit. Request test reports per batch and UL listing for cables installed in buildings.

Patch cords: 500–1,000 pcs; switches/routers: 100–500 units; antennas: 100–500 pcs. Custom firmware or branding usually requires 1,000+ units.
